Windscreen Replaced? Front-End Repaired? Your ADAS Safety Systems Need Recalibrating — We Do It Right in Abu Dhabi
Modern vehicles rely on a network of cameras, radar sensors, lidar units, and ultrasonic detectors to power their Advanced Driver Assistance Systems — commonly known as ADAS. These systems include adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and traffic sign recognition. Every one of these systems depends on its sensor or camera being positioned and calibrated to precise factory angles and tolerances.
Any time your windscreen is replaced, your front bumper or grille is repaired, your vehicle is involved in even a minor front or rear collision, your suspension geometry is adjusted, or your wheels are aligned — the sensors and cameras that power your ADAS must be recalibrated. Without recalibration, these systems either stop functioning altogether or — more dangerously — appear to function normally but operate on incorrect data. At Muller Motors in Musaffah, Abu Dhabi, we carry out professional radar and ADAS calibration for all major vehicle brands using dedicated calibration equipment and manufacturer-specified procedures.
FRONT CAMERA CALIBRATION
The front-facing camera — typically mounted at the top of your windscreen — powers your lane departure warning, lane keep assist, traffic sign recognition, and forward collision warning systems. After every windscreen replacement, this camera must be recalibrated. We carry out static front camera calibration using dedicated target boards positioned to manufacturer specifications on a level surface in our calibration bay.
RADAR SENSOR CALIBRATION
Front and rear radar sensors power your adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, and rear cross-traffic alert systems. These sensors sit behind your front grille and rear bumper and are extremely sensitive to misalignment — even a fraction of a degree off-axis affects their performance. After any front or rear bodywork, bumper replacement, or collision repair, we recalibrate all radar modules to factory specification.
BLIND SPOT MONITORING CALIBRATION
Blind spot monitoring systems use radar sensors mounted inside the rear quarter panels or bumpers to detect vehicles in adjacent lanes. After rear suspension work, rear collision repairs, or bumper replacement, these sensors can shift out of alignment. We recalibrate blind spot monitoring systems to ensure they detect correctly and do not produce false alerts or — worse — miss real vehicles in your blind spot.
SURROUND VIEW & PARKING CAMERA CALIBRATION
360-degree surround view systems and individual parking cameras must be calibrated to stitch together a seamless overhead view. After any body repair work that affects a camera mounting point — including front, rear, or side mirror cameras — we carry out the calibration procedure to align all camera feeds and restore the surround view system to full accuracy.
STATIC & DYNAMIC CALIBRATION
ADAS calibration comes in two forms depending on the system and the vehicle manufacturer's requirements. Static calibration takes place in our workshop using precise target boards, calibration frames, and diagnostic software — the car remains stationary. Dynamic calibration requires a controlled road drive under specific conditions after the static process. We carry out both types correctly and completely, exactly as the manufacturer specifies.
POST-REPAIR ADAS VERIFICATION
After any bodywork, windscreen replacement, or suspension service at Muller Motors, we always check whether your vehicle's ADAS systems require calibration. We carry out a full diagnostic scan to confirm which systems are flagging calibration errors and advise you on what is required before the car leaves our workshop. We do not return a vehicle with uncalibrated safety systems.
ADAS & Radar Calibration in Abu Dhabi — Why It Is a Safety Issue, Not Just a Warning Light
The most important thing to understand about ADAS calibration is that it is not optional. It is not something you can choose to skip and revisit later. Every ADAS system — whether it is your forward collision warning, your automatic emergency braking, your adaptive cruise control, or your lane keep assist — is calibrated at the factory to operate within extremely tight tolerances. When a windscreen is replaced, a bumper is repaired, or a suspension component is changed, those tolerances are disrupted. The system does not know this has happened. It continues to operate on its original calibration — which is now incorrect.
The consequences of driving with uncalibrated ADAS can be severe. An automatic emergency braking system that is miscalibrated by even a small margin may brake too late or fail to brake at all. A lane departure warning camera that is slightly off-axis may fail to detect lane markings at the correct distance. An adaptive cruise control radar that is pointing even fractionally wide may track the wrong vehicle or fail to detect the car directly ahead in time. None of these failures show up as obvious warning lights. The system appears to be working. It is not.
This is why ADAS calibration must be carried out after every event that could affect sensor or camera alignment — and it must be carried out correctly, using the proper equipment and procedures, not approximated with generic tools. At Muller Motors, we take this seriously. We invested in dedicated ADAS calibration equipment — including calibration frames, reference targets, and manufacturer-specific diagnostic software — because we understand that safety systems must work properly, not approximately.
Our calibration process begins with a full diagnostic scan to identify every system that requires calibration. We then set up our calibration bay, position the vehicle precisely on a level surface, and carry out the static calibration procedure for each affected system using the correct target and measurement specifications for your specific vehicle make and model. Where a dynamic calibration drive is also required — as specified by certain manufacturers after static calibration — we complete that step as well. We finish with a final diagnostic scan to confirm every system has accepted its new calibration and is reporting correctly.
