Want to Change Your Rim Colour, Refresh Faded Wheels, or Add Bold Caliper Colour? Our Wheel Painting Specialists in Musaffah, Abu Dhabi Do It Properly — With Lasting Results
Your wheels and brake calipers are among the most visible parts of your car — and one of the fastest ways to transform how your vehicle looks from the outside. Whether you want to refresh your current rim colour, switch to a completely different finish, add a bold caliper colour that shows through your spokes, or restore wheels that have been damaged by kerbing, fading, or corrosion — Muller Motors carries out professional rim and caliper painting in Abu Dhabi to a standard that looks right and lasts in the UAE’s demanding climate.
We do not apply paint over dirty, unprepared surfaces and call it done. Every rim painting and caliper painting job at our Musaffah body shop starts with thorough stripping and preparation — removing the old coating, treating the surface properly for adhesion, and applying the correct primer, colour, and clear coat or lacquer in the right sequence. The result is a finish that bonds correctly to the wheel or caliper surface, withstands the heat and mechanical stress those components experience, and stays looking clean far longer than a rushed job ever would.
RIM PAINTING & COLOUR CHANGE
We carry out full rim painting in any colour — gloss, satin, matt, metallic, or two-tone finishes. Whether you want factory-matched colour restoration on a faded or damaged rim, a complete colour change to transform your car's look, or a custom colour combination unique to your vehicle, our wheel painting team prepares and paints every rim to a professional, long-lasting standard. All rims are removed from the vehicle for painting — never masked and sprayed on the car.
BRAKE CALIPER PAINTING
Painted brake calipers are one of the most striking visual upgrades you can make to any car. Visible through the spokes of your alloys, a boldly coloured caliper immediately lifts the appearance of the entire wheel arch and gives your car a more purposeful, performance-oriented look. We paint brake calipers using high-temperature caliper paint rated to withstand the extreme heat that brake components generate — unlike standard automotive paint, which peels and blisters under braking heat within weeks.
POWDER COATING
Powder coating is the most durable wheel finishing method available — a dry powder is electrostatically applied to the wheel surface and then heat-cured into a hard, continuous coating that is significantly more chip and scratch-resistant than conventional spray paint. We carry out powder coating on alloy wheels in a wide range of standard and custom colours, providing a finish that withstands the harsh road conditions, brake dust, and heat cycling that UAE driving subjects wheels to on a daily basis.
FULL WHEEL REFURBISHMENT BEFORE PAINTING
Kerbed, scratched, or corroded wheels need proper repair before any paint is applied — otherwise new paint simply covers the damage and peels away from rough edges within months. We carry out full alloy wheel refurbishment as a prerequisite for any rim painting job where damage is present — repairing kerb damage, filling imperfections, and sanding to a smooth surface — so the paint adheres correctly and the finished wheel looks right from every angle.
CUSTOM FINISHES & SPECIAL EFFECTS
Beyond standard colour painting, we carry out a range of specialist wheel finishes including two-tone painted rims where the spokes and rim barrel are painted different colours, gloss black or satin black finishes that are extremely popular on SUVs across Abu Dhabi, bronze and gunmetal metallic finishes for a subtle premium look, and colour-matched finishes that complement your vehicle's body colour exactly. We discuss every option with you before starting and advise on what works best for your specific wheel design.
CALIPER DECAL & LETTERING
For customers who want to take their caliper presentation further, we also carry out caliper lettering and logo application — adding brand names, logos, or custom text to the caliper face in contrasting colours. This service is particularly popular on performance and luxury vehicles where the caliper is a prominent visual feature through large open wheel spokes. Lettering is applied using high-temperature resistant materials that withstand the same heat as the caliper paint itself.
Rim & Caliper Painting in Abu Dhabi — Why Preparation is Everything and How We Do It
The single most important factor in any wheel or caliper painting job is preparation. It is also the step that most cheap and rushed painting services skip or do inadequately. Paint that is applied over a poorly prepared surface — old paint layers that have not been fully removed, dust or contamination not cleaned off properly, metal that has not been primed correctly — will look acceptable for a few weeks and then begin to peel, chip, and flake. In Abu Dhabi’s extreme temperatures, on wheels that cycle through heat and cold repeatedly with every drive, inadequately prepared paintwork fails faster than anywhere else.
At Muller Motors, we do not paint over old coatings. Every rim that comes to us for painting is stripped back to bare metal or bare alloy — either by chemical stripping, sandblasting, or full mechanical preparation depending on the wheel type and condition. Only once the surface is completely clean, smooth, and free of all old coating, contamination, rust, and imperfection do we move to the next stage.
After stripping, we apply the correct etch primer for alloy or steel wheel surfaces — this is a chemically bonding primer that creates the foundation for every subsequent layer. Over the etch primer, we apply a filler primer to address any surface imperfections and create a perfectly smooth base for the colour coat. We then apply the colour in multiple thin coats, allowing each coat to flash off correctly before the next is applied. Finally, we apply a clear lacquer or clear coat over the colour to protect the finish and give it the gloss level required — whether that is high gloss, satin, or matt.
For caliper painting, the process is different because the material is different and the operating conditions are far more demanding. Brake calipers experience extreme heat cycles — from ambient temperature to several hundred degrees Celsius under hard braking, repeated multiple times on every journey in Abu Dhabi’s stop-start traffic. Standard automotive paint cannot survive these temperatures. We use caliper-specific high-temperature paint products rated for continuous exposure to brake operating temperatures, applied over a properly prepared and primed caliper surface. We also apply a clear top coat rated for the same temperature range to protect the colour and make the caliper easier to clean.

We remove wheels from the vehicle for all rim painting work — painting is always carried out off the car, never masked and sprayed in place, which would produce an unacceptable result. Calipers are painted either on the vehicle with the wheels removed and all surrounding brake components masked correctly, or removed where practical for certain brake systems. We always carry out a brake system check after any caliper work to confirm everything is correctly refitted and functioning before the vehicle is returned.
