Not every worn or cracked leather interior requires a full re-upholstery. In many cases, targeted leather repair — addressing the cracked and worn areas specifically, cleaning and conditioning the surrounding leather, and applying a quality protective coating — produces an excellent result at a fraction of the cost of stripping and recovering the whole interior. We always tell you honestly whether repair or replacement is the right approach for your specific situation, and we never recommend full re-upholstery when repair will genuinely serve you well.
When full re-upholstery is the right choice — either because the leather is beyond repair, because the customer wants a material or colour upgrade, or because a custom interior is the goal — we carry out every stage of the process properly. We remove every seat from the vehicle. We remove the existing covers from the seat foam structure, inspecting the foam for compression damage, tears, or contamination that should be addressed before new covers are fitted. We replace foam where it is damaged. We pattern-cut new covers from your chosen material using the original covers as templates — ensuring the fit is correct and the panel seams align in the same positions as the originals. We hand-stitch all seams using thread matched to your interior colour or in a contrasting colour of your choice.
Throughout the re-upholstery process, we correctly manage all wiring routed through seat structures — including heated seat elements, seat position memory wiring, massage system connections, occupancy sensor wiring for airbag systems, and side-impact airbag connections. These components are protected, reconnected correctly, and tested after the new covers are fitted. We do not cut wiring corners on any vehicle — particularly important on modern vehicles where seat airbag deployment depends on the wiring being correctly intact.
